For 15 years, Andrea H. Retzky (she/her) has led Retzky., a New York-based communications consultancy serving mission-driven organizations. A skilled writer and editor with 30 years of experience leading communications strategies across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, she joins a deep understanding of how these sectors intersect and partner with an appreciation for what constituencies seek and a true passion for her work. 

Prior to launching her firm, as a vice president in the PR and Public Affairs practice at marketing firm SS+K, she counseled a mix of nonprofit and private sector clients. Previously, she was the director of corporate partnerships and marketing at the Fund for Public Schools, the nonprofit arm of the NYC public schools, which leads private investment to support system-wide reforms. Before joining the Fund, Andrea led internal and external communications and served in a client management role for Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading public relations agencies. 

Andrea worked in Washington, D.C. as deputy press secretary to U.S. Representative Joe Kennedy, and then as deputy and acting press secretary to U.S. Senator John Kerry, where her responsibilities included managing Kerry’s D.C.-based press operations during his successful 1996 re-election campaign. In 2004, she volunteered full-time with Kerry’s Presidential campaign in Cleveland, Ohio for the final month of the campaign.  Andrea began her career in the publicity department of global publisher Random House, Inc. She graduated from Cornell University with honors, with a B.S. in Communications. She lives in New York with her family.
